Customer.io analytics from your own data

Automations, broadcasts and one-time sends from your Customer.io workspace, analysis-ready.

What you can learn from your Customer.io data

Once Customer.io is connected, these are the questions your data can answer. Each one has a free tool that shows the method on a sample first.

A/B test

Whether version A really beat version B.

Fits your campaigns, broadcasts and newsletters.

Attribution

Which channel earns credit for a sale or sign-up.

Fits your campaigns, broadcasts and newsletters.

Funnel

Where people drop off between steps.

Fits your campaigns and broadcasts.

Cohort retention

Whether people who joined in the same month come back.

Fits your newsletters.

What data it brings

  • campaigns: Automations: type, state, active flag, created, updated and first-started dates, tag count and action count (no names, descriptions or message content).
  • broadcasts: Broadcasts: type, state, active flag, created, updated and first-started dates, tag count and action count (no names or message content).
  • newsletters: One-time sends: channel type, send state, created, updated, sent and scheduled dates, tag count and recipient segment count (no names or message content).

A question you can ask

“How many automations are active, by state?”

Ask it in your own words. You get the answer, with the steps that made it.

How to connect it

You connect with a key you create in your Customer.io account. It takes a few minutes.

  1. In your MCP Analytics account, open Connectors and choose Customer.io. The setup form opens there.
  2. In Customer.io, open Settings, then API Credentials, and choose App API Keys.
  3. Create a private key (it starts with sk_) and copy it.
  4. Paste the key and the region into the setup form. The connection only reads data.

We test the connection before we save it, so you know right away if a step was missed.

What we keep, and how to disconnect

We keep the key or login you give us, encrypted, and use it only to read the data you ask about. Other accounts cannot see your connections. To stop, open Connectors in your account and choose Remove on the Customer.io row; that deletes the saved key. You can also cancel the key in Customer.io itself.

Questions

What can I learn from my Customer.io data?

You can see whether version a really beat version b, which channel earns credit for a sale or sign-up, and where people drop off between steps. Each one has a free tool that shows the method on a sample.

Will this change anything in my Customer.io account?

No. We only read. Nothing in Customer.io is changed.

Can I use a file instead?

Yes. Export a CSV from Customer.io and upload it. Connecting just saves you the export each time.

Can I combine Customer.io with my other data?

Yes. Connect each source, then ask a question that names both.
