Connect PostHog

Feature flags, cohorts, dashboards and insights from your PostHog project, analysis-ready.

What data it brings

  • feature flags: Feature flags: key, name, active flag, rollout percentage and created date.
  • cohorts: Cohorts: name, member count, whether static, and created date.
  • dashboards: Dashboards: name, pinned flag, created date.
  • insights: Insights: name, created and last modified dates.

A question you can ask

“How many feature flags are active?”

Ask it in your own words. You get the answer, with the steps that made it.

How to connect it

You connect with a key you create in your PostHog account. It takes a few minutes.

  1. In your MCP Analytics account, open Connectors and choose PostHog. The setup form opens there.
  2. In PostHog open your account menu, then Personal API keys, and choose Create personal API key.
  3. Give it Read access to Feature flags, Cohorts, Dashboards and Insights only, scoped to the one project.
  4. Copy the key (it starts with phx_). It is shown once. Paste it into the setup form, and type your region and project ID in the setup form.

We test the connection before we save it, so you know right away if a step was missed.

What we keep, and how to disconnect

We keep the key or login you give us, encrypted, and use it only to read the data you ask about. Other accounts cannot see your connections. To stop, open Connectors in your account and choose Remove on the PostHog row; that deletes the saved key. You can also cancel the key in PostHog itself.

Questions

Will this change anything in my PostHog account?

No. We only read. Nothing in PostHog is changed.

Can I use a file instead?

Yes. Export a CSV from PostHog and upload it. Connecting just saves you the export each time.

Can I combine PostHog with my other data?

Yes. Connect each source, then ask a question that names both.
