Connect Google Sheets

One tab of a Google Sheet, read-only, with the first row as the column names.

What data it brings

  • rows: The rows of the tab or range you chose: first row is the column names, every later row is one record.

How to connect it

You connect with a Google service account you share your property with. It takes a few minutes.

  1. In your MCP Analytics account, open Connectors and choose Google Sheets. The setup form opens there.
  2. In Google Cloud Console open IAM & Admin > Service Accounts, create a service account (or pick one).
  3. Open Keys > Add Key > Create new key > JSON, and download the file.
  4. In your sheet choose Share and add the service account's email (client_email in the file) as Viewer.
  5. Upload the JSON file into the setup form. Turn on the Google Sheets API for that project if Google asks.

We test the connection before we save it, so you know right away if a step was missed.

What we keep, and how to disconnect

We keep the key or login you give us, encrypted, and use it only to read the data you ask about. Other accounts cannot see your connections. To stop, open Connectors in your account and choose Remove on the Google Sheets row; that deletes the saved key. You can also cancel the key in Google Sheets itself.

Questions

Will this change anything in my Google Sheets account?

No. We only read. Nothing in Google Sheets is changed.

Can I use a file instead?

Yes. Export a CSV from Google Sheets and upload it. Connecting just saves you the export each time.

Can I combine Google Sheets with my other data?

Yes. Connect each source, then ask a question that names both.
