Connect Asana
Tasks from one Asana project, analysis-ready.
What data it brings
- tasks: Tasks of the project: completed flag, task type, and created, modified, due and completed dates (no names, notes, assignees or comments).
A question you can ask
“How many tasks are completed and how many are not?”
Ask it in your own words. You get the answer, with the steps that made it.
How to connect it
You connect with a key you create in your Asana account. It takes a few minutes.
- In your MCP Analytics account, open Connectors and choose Asana. The setup form opens there.
- In Asana open your profile picture, then Settings, then Apps, then Manage Developer Apps, and choose Create new token.
- Name it and copy the token. It is shown once.
- Paste it into the setup form, and type the project id (the long number in the project's address) in the setup form.

We test the connection before we save it, so you know right away if a step was missed.
What we keep, and how to disconnect
We keep the key or login you give us, encrypted, and use it only to read the data you ask about. Other accounts cannot see your connections. To stop, open Connectors in your account and choose Remove on the Asana row; that deletes the saved key. You can also cancel the key in Asana itself.
Questions
Will this change anything in my Asana account?
No. We only read. Nothing in Asana is changed.
Can I use a file instead?
Yes. Export a CSV from Asana and upload it. Connecting just saves you the export each time.
Can I combine Asana with my other data?
Yes. Connect each source, then ask a question that names both.
